The last man to pull a victory over Anderson Silva (technically), Yushin Okami says he can do it again and is already training for Silva as he believes he is next in line.

Via CagePotato:

“The middleweight division is for the fighters who are there, and have been fighting there, so I don’t think there’s much point in (the GSP vs. Silva) fight. Basically, I haven’t really thought about it because Anderson and I are top of the middleweight division, so it should be left to us.”

“I want to fight Anderson, beat him, and I believe I’ll become a new star in the UFC. I’m concentrating and training for that fight now. Anderson is the top of the middleweight division and I am coming for the belt. I promise you’ll see him fall and I’ll be the new champion.

When Okami fought Anderson Silva back in 2006 at Rumble on the Rock 8, it was a one sided beating by Silva until the fight was stopped due to an illegal up-kick by the now top p4p champ. Reminiscent of the situation with Jon Jones only loss to Matt Hamill due to an illegal elbow.

If Okami is given the title shot what do you think are his chances of walking away with a victory again?
