Well, it appears Tyron Woodley’s persistent attitude has paid off.

The UFC announced on Tuesday that Woodley would meet Carlos Condit at UFC 171.

Woodley (12-2) started pushing for the contest hard after Matt Brown was forced out with an injury. UFC officials tried to secure Condit vs. Nick Diaz, but Diaz was uninterested.

Woodley, a former contender to the Strikeforce welterweight title, is 2-1 since joining the UFC – both wins coming via first round knockout.

Condit (29-7) snapped a two-fight losing skid with a TKO over Martin Kampmann in August. Both of his losses came at the hands of Johny Hendricks and Georges St-Pierre via decision.
