It’s never a good thing when your boss is unhappy with you. In Alistair Overeem’s case, he has eight months for UFC president Dana White to cool down.  White let his thoughts be known on the ‘Jim Rome Show‘ regarding the matter of former top heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem botching the large UFC 146 card, as he has been refused licensing nine months for failing his surprise PED test with 14:1 T/E levels.

“Nine months? Nine months isn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be,” White said.

“I thought he would get a year. Easily a year.”

As usual, the fighters speak with the UFC brass in advance on their health and any other issues that may arise. White had made it clear that Overeem lied to his face, claiming no issues such as the one that has now caused Reem to be unlicensed for nine months.

“I’m not a fan,” White said. “I’m not a fan at all. You’re not going to hear me today on your radio show defending Alistair Overeem. Believe me.”

‘The Reem’ will in fact be eligible to fight on Dec. 27, just days before the UFC’s usual large New Years card. Whether the UFC is willing to risk having the heavyweight on the card is unknown according to White.

“We’ll see what happens,” White said. “We’ll see what happens, man.”
