Recently Ronda Rousey knocked the MMA world slightly off-kilter by relaying that she could see herself hanging up the gloves in a couple of years. The UFC bantamweight champ didn’t say the retirement plan was written in stone or anything, but just hearing the rising star say she could be done fighting by the time she’s 28, prompted a fire storm of discussion (and panic).

Of course, since Rousey was recently cast in “The Expendables 3”, and is in general a pretty hot commodity these days, the armbar guru has a few things to fall back on other than fighting. Although Rousey recently clarified that her retirement could come “tomorrow or in another seven years”, Dana White was asked about her comments at a UFC Fight Night 26 media event this week. So does White see Rousey retiring in two years? The UFC President reportedly said “no way in hell”, before adding (quote through MMA

“I don’t care what Hollywood offers, they’re ain’t paying what we’re paying,” White said. “These guys, when they go out and make a movie, they’re not paying what we are.”

You might recall that White said similar things when “Rampage” Jackson headed to Hollywood to star in “The A-Team.” Jackson is still fighting by the way (just not for the UFC). Of course, since Rousey is just beginning her acting career, no one can say definitely what she’s going to be doing, two, three, or eight years from now.

Now that said, Rousey is set to fight Miesha Tate at UFC 168 on December 28th, after the upcoming season of TUF 18 concludes, The season features her coaching opposite Tate and premieres September 4th.
