Jon Jones may be coming off his toughest test to date, as Alexander Gustafsson demonstrated that “Bones” is in fact mortal at UFC 165, but he remains the UFC’s ¬†best P4P fighter. After all, not only has Jones defeated several former light-heavyweight champs to date, but he’s set a new title defense record for 205 (six).

Recently Dana White was asked about Jones’ historic run during a media tour in Brazil to promote UFC 168, and the UFC boss man had nothing but praise for what the 26 year-old has already accomplished. Here is some of what White had to say (comment via MMA

“Jones has had the toughest run of guys in the UFC. I mean, to get to the belt and to defend the belt, Jones has had to go through hell. Yeah, and he’s the most accomplished. Nevermind Tito Ortiz, let’s talk about Chuck Liddell, somebody who could actually really fight. Even Chuck Liddell, the things he accomplished and the things that he did, what Jon Jones has accomplished is greater than any light heavyweight, ever.”

It’s hard to argue with that, even if Liddell became one of the sport’s first superstars thanks to his thrilling ability to ruin opponents with one or two punches. Jones has already defeated the likes of Vitor Belfort, “Shogun” Rua, “Rampage” Jackson, Rashad Evans, Lyoto Machida, Chael Sonnen and now Gustafsson. That’s pretty, pretty impressive.

Too bad we’ll never get to see a Liddell in his prime throw down with Jones…
