Erick Silva was on a pretty hot streak when he entered into the UFC back UFC 134. And why not? Not only was he Jungle Fight’s welterweight champ, but he’d amassed his wins in exciting fashion, proving that he could knock dudes out just as easily as submit them in the Brazilian minor leagues. Of course, Octagon life is a different beast than the local fight circuit, and he’s since met defeat via disqualification for bashing Carlo Prater in the back of the head, via decision for getting Jon Fitch’ed by Jon Fitch, and via knockout from a Hail Mary punch thrown by Dong Hyun Kim at UFC Fight Night 29. But Silva’s still got some fight in him, and when he takes on Takenori Sato at next weekend’s UFC Fight Night 36, he could very well clobber the Pancrase champ.
Anyway, in case you’ve forgotten just how exciting Silva can be, here’s one of his Jungle Fight bouts. Let this serve as a reminder that Silva can most definitely throw down.
