Wanderlei Silva is not buying the ‘accidental’ broken hand of Vitor Belfort which will remove him from their UFC 147 rematch in Brazil, after coaching the first season of TUF: Brazil. After ruining what ‘Wandy’ calls the main event of the biggest event in the world, he was a little more than perturbed at his competitor.
“We are professionals. It’s a great irresponsibility not to be careful on training, a great disrespect towards the fans. I’m really sad. I’m ready to knock you out, you have nowhere to run. This fight is happening. I guess you got scared of me. Nobody trains so hard that breaks his hand. We use the best equipments, gloves, bandages. If you were scared, you shouldn’t have accepted it. If you really got it broken, it’s amateurism and if you didn’t, you’re scared. In both scenarios, it was irresponsible of you towards the fans. Pardon the word, but I’m pissed with your amateurism. A main event on the biggest event of the world and the guy shows up like that.”
The UFC is currently on the search for a match-up for the Pride FC legend. The insinuations that Belfort had broken his hand out of fear of fighting him are hard to conceive. Belfort, known for his over-training in the past, may be a hard pill to swallow for Silva, but may still get his chance at a rematch to redeem his past loss in the near future.
