Hormones created in a lab and injected intravenously can only take you so far. Brazilian legend Vitor Belfort now knows this, thanks to some serious beatings received in the cage, and he announced after his last defeat that he would likely be fighting just once more.

Well, Combate (h/t to MMAMania) is reporting that his final dance partner might be Nate Marquardt.

I can live with that. In fact, I wouldn’t mind if, after they dusted each other off and exited the Octagon, both Belfort and Marquardt mounted a single white steed and rode off into the sunset together.

It now looks as if “The Phenom” has his final curtain call in place. Per a recent report by Combate, Vitor Belfort will make his last walk to the Octagon in a matchup with veteran Nate Marquardt at UFC 212 on June 3 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Jeunesse Arena from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Belfort, 40, is on the last leg of his stellar MMA career. The former UFC light heavyweight champion has lost four out of his last five UFC appearances, including a recent TKO loss to Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Fight Night 106, but still stands as one of the most popular names in the sport. After his loss to Gastelum, Belfort made it known that he has one last fight left.
