The Ultimate Fighter season 8 runner-up Vinny Magalhaes has found his way back into the octagon. Vinny was originally kicked out of the UFC after two straight defeats at the hands of Ryan Bader, and Eilot Marshal. Fortunately, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt has been able to reverse his fortune in the last couple of years. Since his release in 2009, Vinny has been able to compile a record of 7-1 including five straight finishes in his last five fights.

His return to the octagon is a welcome one when current champion Jon Jones has been beating every former champion and contender in sight. Magalhaes had a rough go in his first stint in the cage, but he was purely a BJJ practitioner at that point. Now that he has added some standup skills, a little more mass and some experience, he could be a very potent player in the light heavyweight division. No fight has been announced for his re-debut, but with limited ground fighters at 205, he could be a hard match up for anyone.
