We had a war in the main event Saturday night at UFC 165. Whether you agreed or disagreed with the controversial decision, there is no doubt that it was an entertaining five round throw down. Gustafsson had many, including myself believing that he would walk away with the title in the early rounds, as he negated Jones’ usually dominant take-downs. The champ would come from behind later in the fight as he landed painful head-kicks and elbows which opened up the contender. Both men bloodied, it was the victor who went home with more apparent damage.

During the post-fight press conference, White clarified that the UFC is very much considering a rematch. Of course that would mean that top contender Glover Teixeira would be put on hold. Another interesting storyline from Saturday is Jones clenching the record for most defenses of the UFC light heavyweight title, surpassing Tito Ortiz’s five defenses.
