Demetrious Johnson is undeniably one of the best fighters in the sport at any weight. I mean, just look at what he’s capable of and what he’s accomplished. But the UFC flyweight champ never really caught on with the fans, and when “superfight fever” struck and former bantamweight champ TJ Dillashaw offered to fight him, “Mighty Mouse” wasn’t having it.
That sucked, because it could’ve been a fight worth hyping. Instead, Johnson is going to fight at UFC 215 against challenger Ray Borg, who’s going to need the champ to slip on half a dozen banana peels in the Octagon for things to go his way (because we all know Johnson is that much better than Borg), and we’re still going to get a fight no one cares about.
Oh well. At least Johnson gets another Countdown show about him.
