Tyron definitively beat Robbie Lawler to win the welterweight crown. There’s no question about that. But he barely got by Stephen Thompson – twice – so he’s a far cry from the kind of dominant champ we like to have ruling his particular division with violence.

However, when he faces challenger Demian Maia at UFC 214, you have to think that a win over the jiu-jitsu master would go a long way in cementing Woodley’s legend.

Of course, defeating Maia will be no easy task. The Brazilian is the absolute best jiu-jitsu guy out there, and if the fight goes to the ground, Woodley damn well better have his rear naked choke defense on point, because Maia will for sure be stuck to his back like a parasite.

Woodley and Maia are having an important fight, so they’ve gotten the Countdown treatment. Here’s their video.
