Vitor Belfort became the first man to take out Dan Henderson out with strikes–in a career that’s featured 40 fights–and earned “Knockout of the Night” for his impressive efforts at UFC FN 32.

Henderson was sent to the mat not long into the main event by a Belfort uppercut, and although he managed to recover and scramble to his feet, the legend was floored by a follow up head kick. Belfort will go home with an extra $50,000 grand as a result of the award.

With the win, the 36 year-old Belfort has won three straight fights via head kick. The 43 year-old Henderson, on the other hand, has lost three straight.

Belfort’s win certainly had a ton of competition in terms of “KOTN”,  as the night featured several stoppage wins, including Jeremy Stephens’ brutal headkick win over Rony “Jason”.

“Submission of the Night” went to Adriano Martins, who forced lightweight Daron Cruickshank to tap-out to a second round, straight-armbar. Martins also collected an extra 5OK for the award, which came in his UF C debut.

“Fight of the Night”, and 50 grand each, went to middleweights Omari Akhmedov and Thiago Perpetuo for their thrilling and quick bout. Akhmedov was stunned on a couple of occasions during the fight, but finished Perpetuo off with a right uppercut at 3:31 of the opening round.

UFC FN 32 was hosted by the Goiania Arena, in Goiania, Brazil. It was a crazy night of fights.
