Now that Mark Munoz has got back on track by defeating Tim Boetsch, following his one sided loss to Chris Weidman last summer, “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” is in the title shot mix again. Up next, of course, the #5 ranked middleweight will battle decorated vet Lyoto Machida at UFC Fight Night 30 on October 26th. If Munoz is victorious, things could get interesting for the powerful fighter.

Of course, defeating Machida is no easy task, and the elusive striker has defeated noted wrestlers in the past. In a recent interview with Fighters Only Magazine, however, Reign coach Riley Ross relayed that Munoz will be more than ready.

“You’re going to see a lot of things you’ve never seen before in a fight. I know a lot of people talk about that, a lot of people say that, but we’ve got a gameplan we really feel is going to throw Machida off his game and challenge him.”

“We believe that Mark has all the tools to be a world champion and this is just another rung on the ladder, another world champion we are going to beat on the way to a rematch with Chris Weidman or [a fight with] Anderson Silva.”

Interesting no? Guess we’ll have to wait and see what Munoz and his camp have planned.

UFN 30 will take place at the Phones 4U Arena in Manchester, England, and will also see Ross Pearson fight Melvin Guillard in the co-main-event.
