If ‘ultimate fighting’ wasn’t your thing until recently, then you may have been indifferent to the news that John Howard is returning to the UFC and will fight Uriah Hall on August 17th. For people that followed Howard during his previous UFC run, however, and know “Doomsday” is also a finisher, they’re likely pretty excited to see how his bout with Hall unfolds.

Recently, RM Sports spoke with Hall about the upcoming fight, and he acknowledged that Howard is “ready to bang”. The TUF 17 Finalist also predicted ” I know there’s going to be a knockout and it’s not going to be me.” Well, in a recent report from Bleacher Report, Howard also relayed he’s expecting it to be an awesome fight. Not surprisingly, however, the 30 year-old fighter outlined where he believes he has a distinct advantage.

“It’s going to be a great fight. He’s a good striker and I’m also a good striker. I want to see what he throws at me and what he comes with because I’m coming at him hard and fast. I don’t get in there to play games. I can’t wait for this fight. I know he brings it and I’m going to bring it. It’s going to be a great fight.

“Experience is a big factor on my side because it’s something you can’t duplicate. I’m going to use my experience to my advantage and take it to him. I’m going to see what he does in there. I know he trains with some of the best guys in the world, but training with the best guys and fighting the best guys are two different things. I’m going to see what he brings, but if I have to make adjustments I will, and I’ll keep moving forward.”

If you’re wondering, Howard will head into UFC FN 30 armed with a record of 20-8 and having gone 4-3 in the Octagon. Hall is currently 7-3 and has just once official UFC bout under his belt, a split decision loss to Kelvin Gastelum at the TUF 17 Finale. We’ll find out in less than a week’s time whether Howard’s experience plays big or not.
