The second UFC on FOX Sports 1 card is quickly filling out, as the UFC has confirmed that Court McGee will take on fellow TUF winner Robert Whittaker, and that Octagon newcomer Brandon Thatch will fight Justin Edwards. UFC on FS 1 2 will be hosted by the Bankers Life Fieldhouse on August 28th.

McGee (15-3) is coming off a successful welterweight debut, as the TUF 11 winner handed Josh Neer a unanimous decision loss at UFC 157, after dropping consecutive decisions to middleweights Nick Ring and Costa Philippou.

Whittaker (11-2) took out TUF 16 winner Colton Smith in the third round at UFC 160, after working his way to a UD victory over Brad Scott in December to win TUF “Smashes”.

Edwards (8-2) hasn’t fought since October, when he choked out the aforementioned Neer with a first round guillotine choke at UFC on FX 5. Prior to that, the welterweight lost by UD to John Maguire at UFC 138 in November, 2011.

Thatch (9-1) is widely regarded to be one of the best 170 pounders who has yet to throw down in the Octagon. Most recently, the Colorado fighter tapped out Mike Rhodes while competing for Resurrection Fighting Alliance in March.

So, the UFC on FS1 2 card is coming together nicely,  and with UFC on FS1 1 set to go on August 17th, and UFC 164 scheduled for August 31st, it’s going to be a couple of action packed weeks.
