In the evening’s ninth bout of UFC on Fox 8 — and the first of the televised main card — Liz Carmouche dominated Jessica Andrade en route to a stoppage victory at 3:57 in the second round.

It was mostly a Carmouche spotlight bout, but the 21 year old Brazilian prospect Andrade kept it competitive in round one — reversing Carmouche nicely after being taken down and also attacking with a guillotine. But Carmouche quickly took control in the second, scoring a quick takedown and advancing to side control, then mount, then back mount.

Carmouche attacked with a nasty ground-and-pound assault, particularly elbow strikes in back control, until referee Herb Dean mercifully called a halt to the action at 3:57 of round two.

“The Girl-rilla,” rebounding nicely from her loss to UFC Womens Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 157, now goes to 9-3 in her MMA career. Interestingly, the loss drops Andrade to 9-3.

Liz Carmouche defeated Jessica Andrade by T/KO at 3:57 of round two at UFC on Fox 8.
