Court McGee won a season of TUF and has amassed more than a few wins during his career within the Octagon, but sadly, the storyline surrounding him will always be that he’s a recovering drug addict. Santchiago Ponzinibbio has no such checkered past, although his story is that he was a finalist in a season of TUF Brasil who had to be replaced after suffering an injury. Where does that leave us for tonight’s UFC on FOX 19? Hopefully with two guys willing to scrap.

McGee wades in and starts landing his right hand almost immediately, and when Ponzinibbio tries to settle in and box with him, McGree switches throws in a takedown attempt to really mess with his head. But the Brazilian’s got skills and grit galore, and with the help of a chopping low-kick, a flicking jab and some good, old fashioned aggression, he bloodies the American and gets him moving backward a lot. With a minute left in the round Ponzinibbio clobbers him with a right, and when McGee stumbles and falls and struggles to regain himself, Ponzinibbio pours it on. McGee’s got nothing, and referee Herb Dean is forced to step in.
