Michael Chiesa won a season of TUF and, aside from a loss here and there, has done well for himself post-TUF. Beneil Dariush, meanwhile, has been racking up wins too, so this bout could signal some good bigger things for the winner’s future.

Dariush is hard and aggressive right out of the gate, and with some strong kicks, a punishing left and an accurate hook, is immediately inflicting damage. Chiesa keeps his composure, and when he adds some smothering wrestling into the mix, he’s successful in slowing the pace and making Dariush fight his game. Dariush gets a takedown at the end of the round, and the horn sounds with Chiesa turtled.

If Chiesa’s “go to” move is the rear naked choke, he wastes no time going to it in Round 2. From clinch to throw to back-mount, he’s large and in charge, and though Dariush tries to counter and rise to his feet, the tap out is inevitable.
