After having his seven fight win streak snapped by UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson in July, John Moraga will look to get back on track versus Darren Uyenoyama. The UFC has announced that Moraga-Uyenoyama will be part of UFC on FOX 9, which will go down December 14th at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento.

Moraga (13-2) was tapped to face Johnson at UFC on FOX 8, after knocking out Ulysses Gomez and submitting Chris Cariaso in his first two UFC fights. The decorated wrestler and well rounded fighter was eventually tapped out by the champ with a fifth round, armbar. The only other man to defeat Moraga is former TUF winner and top ranked flyweight John Dodson.

Uyenoyama (8-3) is coming off a second round, stoppage loss to Joseph Benavidez at UFC on FOX 7 in April. The BJJ black belt and accomplished grappler had won three straight fights prior to that, however, which included wins over Norifumi Yamamoto and Phil Harris. The Strikeforce and DREAM vet has gone 3-2 in his last 5 fights.

So, that’s an interesting addition to UFC on FOX 9, which of course will be headlined by a lightweight bout between champion Anthony Pettis and Josh Thomson. Some of the other bouts that are set for the card include Faber-McDonald, Mendes-Lentz, and Condit-Brown. It should be a great night of fights.
