Since then, he’s had some ups and downs, and some more ups and downs, and in the span of 13 years was a late-career welterweight champ.┬áThat’s a lot to have accomplished – so much, in fact, that you have to wonder what’s left for the fan-favorite slugger. Does he aspire to another title run? Or does he just want to punch his way into the sunset?

On Saturday, Lawler takes on former lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos in the main event of UFC on FOX 26. A win over RDA would look great on on Lawler’s resume, but it stopped being about resumes a long time ago for Lawler.

Instead, it’s been about showing what he can do. And he can do some serious violence.
