Next at bat are Alex Nicholson versus Misha Cirkunov. If you’ll recall, at the weigh-ins Nicholson got down on one knee and proposed to his lady – will she be tending to his broken body in the hospital after the event tonight?

Canadian Cirkunov effortlessly blends bullish wrestling with power punching, which gives Nicholson trouble from the outset, and though Nicholson appears to be slightly more technical with his strikes, that goes out the window when Cirkunov starts roughing him up.

Nicholson whiffs on no less than four spinning backfists, and the last one ends with Cirkunov taking him down and battering him until the bell.

Like a robot with limited program routines, Cirkunov comes out for Round 2 lumber forward and swinging hard leather, and he transitions into a takedown. Almost methodically he takes Nicholson’s back, and when Cirkunov puts on the neck crank, Nicholson can’t tap out fast enough.
