Ratings are in for UFC Fight Night 57, the Texas event headlined by Frankie Edgar vs. Cub Swanson — and they’re… pretty good. But, maybe not great.

According to Nielsen sources, the show, which was aired on FOX Sports 1, averaged out 903,000 viewers. That’s a substantial increase over the last two UFC events which aired on the station. For a full comparison, check out our friends at The MMA Report.

The show’s headliner Frankie Edgar was also featured in The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale, where he faced old rival BJ Penn in the main event. That show about one million viewers.

According to the UFC, the event drew an attendance of 10,131 for the Frank Irwin Center at the University of Texas in Austin, which seats 17,000. The total live gate was reported at $670,022.

UFC Fight Night 57 had some stiff competition, including the Manny Pacquiao vs. Chris Algeri pay-per-view boxing card, and several college football games. It’s a far cry from the kind of attention and ratings that the last Bellator MMA show received, as Jim Genia profiled here at Caged Insider — which enjoyed about two million viewers while airing at the same time as a UFC pay-per-view event.
