It’s hard to believe that a fighter long hailed as one of the best in her division only just recently fought in the UFC for the first time, but nothing about the plight of Cris Cyborg can be described as normal.

She was Gina Carano’s nemesis in Strikeforce when the world’s eyes were first being opened to the joys of women’s MMA, and after crushing Carano, she fell off the radar in a big way. Then, when Rousey took the UFC by storm, a measly ten-pound weight difference provided all the excuses needed to keep Cyborg from the Octagon.

But Rousey’s gone, and because the UFC does big business in Brazil, Cyborg is the perfect star for them to utilize to attract eyeballs and put asses in seats.

On Saturday, at UFC Fight Night 95 in Brasilia, Cyborg headlines against a nobody. It will of course be a slaughter. Also a slaughter: Cyborg’s Octagon debut against Leslie Smith. Watch it below.
