When last we saw Gegard Mousasi, the former Strikeforce champ was dominating Uriah Hall on the ground until a spinning back-kick and flying knee derailed him. But he returned to action in the co-main event of last night’s UFC Fight Night 84, and after withstanding opponent Thales Leites’ best, Mousasi found himself in the “win” column once more.

From the outset, it was clear Leites wanted one thing: to get Mousasi down and work him over.

Mousasi, however, had other ideas – namely, to dodge every takedown attempt and pick Leites apart with single strikes.

That’s exactly what he did, and though Leites did manage to clock him pretty good in the third round, the judges gave the unanimous decision to Mousasi.
