The UFC set up shop in Pittsburgh for the first time since the Pat Barry-Cheick Kongo classic of 2011 Sunday night with UFC Fight Night 83.

In the headline bout this time around, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone finished off Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira in the first round with a slick triangle choke. Cerrone was originally scheduled to meet Tim Means, but that bout was scrapped after a drug test provided by Means came back red-flagged by USADA.

Derek Brunson was the winner in a co-main event battle vs. Roan Carneiro, scoring himself a first round finish. Cody Garbrandt did the same vs. Augusto Mendes.

The card was riddled with changes over the past several weeks, as six bouts featured new faces and another was completely removed from the night.

Cerrone and Chris Camozzi each picked up “Performance of the Night” bonuses, as Camozzi had a devastating finish vs. Joe Riggs in just 26 seconds. Lauren Murphy and Octagon newcomer Kelly Faszholz were declared the “Fight of the Night.” All four earned an additional $50,000.

The live gate for the show was announced at $572,547, with an attendance of 7,330 filling into the Consol Energy Center.
