Josh Barnett had his first fight back in 1997, and he won it via submission. Let that sink in for a second. Yup, Barnett has been fighting for almost 20 years, and out of 33 wins, he’s secured submissions 20 times.

The dude knows how to tap someone out.

On September 27, Barnett will be headlining UFC Fight Night 75 in Japan opposite Roy Nelson. In case you don’t know, 15 of Barnett’s fights took place in Japan, so the country is practically a second home to the big galoot. Anyway, though he’s capable of standing and banging, it’s safe to say that the idea of taking Nelson down and wrenching a limb has probably crossed Barnett’s mind. Sure, Nelson has a black belt in jiu-jitsu, but Barnett’s grappling style of catchwrestling has enabled him to defeat many a jiu-jitsu practitioner, so why not neutralize Nelson’s dangerous overhand with some horizontal combat?

Here’s a example of what happens when Barnett fights someone really dangerous on the feet. Come to your own conclusions as to what will happen at UFC Fight Night 75.
