The third UFC on FOX Sports 1 card, which are now evidently being called Fight Nights again, has received a change, as Godofredo “Pepey” Castro has been forced to withdraw. As a result, Felipe Arantes has agreed to step in for the featherweight, and will now fight TUF 15 vet Sam Sicilia at the September 4th card.
According to a report from Globo.com, “Pepey” has dropped out of the fight due to a knee injury. The UFC’s Brazilian Twitter account also announced the change.
Arantes (15-5-1) is actually coming off a win over Pepey, as he stopped the featherweight at UFC on FUEL TV 10 last month. Arantes has gone 2-1-1 so far in the Octagon, and is other victory came at UFC 142 last January, when he outscored Antonio Carvalho for the UD win.
Sicilia (11-3) could be on the chopping block if he comes up short at UFC Fight Night 28 (formerly known as UFC on FS1 3), as he’s coming off losses to Rony Bezzera and Maximo Blanco, after knocking out Cristiano Marcello at the TUF 15 Finale.
Fight Night 28 will be hosted by the Estadio Jornalista Felipe Drumond in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Headlining the card will be a light-heavyweight bout between Glover Teixeira and Ryan Bader.
