Brad Tavares entered the Octagon in Indianapolis as the night’s biggest betting favorite (at -450, according to the UFC’s on-screen graphic), and by the time he exited it, he had proven the oddsmakers right.

Tavares out-landed Robert “Bubba” McDaniel throughout the first two rounds of their middleweight encounter, with hard leg kicks and punching combinations leading the way. McDaniel would hit the deck three times, but held tough, finally landing a good left hand early in the third. The southpaw scored a takedown but struggled with Tavares’ guard, only landing a few solid punches and briefly passing to side control, until the final bell.

Each judge had the logical scorecard, 29-28 in favor of Brad Tavares, who has now won four straight bouts.

At UFC Fight Night 27, Brad Tavares defeated Robert “Bubba” McDaniel by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
