Welcome to CagedInsider’s coverage of UFC Fight Night 120, an event that took place in Norfolk, VA, and featured one heck a bloody main event between Dustin Poirier and Anthony Pettis.

Leading off the prelims on FOX Sports 1 was a battle between Nina Ansaroff and Angela Hill. In case you forgot, Ansaroff less known for her Octagon experience – one win and two losses, and a lot of time off to nurse injuries – and more known for her role as girlfriend to champ Amanda Nunes. Hill, on the other hand, had a short run on a season of TUF, went down to Invicta FC to dominate, and is one of the most active UFC fighters when it comes to social media.

From the outset, it was clear these two ladies were comfortable making this into a kickboxing match, with the slightly smaller Hill flitting in and out to land kicks and punches. It took some time for Ansaroff to get comfortable, as Hill’s pace was high and constant, but soon she was firing back with heat of her own, including chopping low-kicks and a flurry at the end of the first round.

Ansaroff kept up the fire in the second, and her edge in power and disregard for Hill’s ability to hurt her translated into Ansaroff racking up the points. Hill may have had the volume on her side, but Ansaroff was consistently more effective.

Round 3 was more of the same, and then it went to the judges.

Results: Nina Ansaroff def. Angela Hill via Unanimous Decision
