Alexa Grasso is perhaps the most accomplished female MMA fighter coming out of Mexico… which isn’t say much, but hey, she kicked ass in her time in Invicta FC, so go with it. Randa Markos made a name for herself on TUF 20, and in her post-TUF life, has gone 3-3 in the Octagon. Both are capable warriors, and this is our co-main event, so gird your loins.

On paper, Grasso should have the edge in boxing and Markos the edge in grappling, but you’d never guess that once the first round is underway, with Markos trading punches and scoring, and Grasso controlling range with wrestling on the feet. Grasso tags her opponent with a solid left, takes the fight to the ground, and scrambles on top for some ground and pound. Soon she takes Markos’ back, but the TUF vet manages to avoid trouble and regain her footing before the horn sounds.

The grappling continues in Round 2, with both ladies trading takedowns and “get ups”. However, it’s Markos who manages to make the change in scenery stick, and eventually she works into mount. More scrambling has Grasso avoiding a stoppage, but she’s getting owned this round.

They open the third round with boxing, and it’s Markos who scores the most. Nearly midway through the round Markos gets a takedown, and when they work back up to their feet, Grasso counters the next takedown attempt with a choke. When the horn sounds Grasso is the one landing the most. It’s damn close, though.
