Welcome to CagedInsider’s coverage of UFC Fight Night 110, which comes to us from New Zealand and featured Mark Hunt (duh, of course) against Derrick Lewis in the main event. There aren’t a lot of needle-movers on the card, so let’s just dig into the action, shall we?

First up: Vinc Pichel versus Damian Brown.

Pichel debuted in the UFC proper after an unsuccessful TUF run to take on Rustam Khabilov, and he got thrown so hard he was knocked out. He racked up a couple wins after that, then took three years (!) off to nurse some injuries and, I don’t know, take up crocheting or something. Brown is an Australian – which makes him somewhat of a local – and is tough but no world-beater.

These guys have no compunctions engaging in a kickboxing battle, with both working angles and firing off combos. Pichel soon finds a home for his left, and when Brown tries to limit his movement with leg-kicks, Pichel clocks him with a right and sends him tumble to the canvas. The follow-up punches have Brown hitting the “snooze” button and asking his mom for just a few more minutes of sleep.

I guess that time off was good for Pichel.
