Joe Proctor came away from TUF 15 an almost-was, and his career in the Octagon since has been a living, breathing example of hype never realized. Bryan Barberena was once put in the cage with Sage Northcutt as a “beatable” opponent, but he tapped Northcutt out like it was nothing. Tonight, Proctor and Barberena get to mix it up.
They start out throwing kicks, but in no time are trading punches as well, with Barberena wielding the obvious edge in speed and technique. Proctor is unfazed, and keeps jumping into the fire, but inevitably Barberena catches him with a right hand. The TUFer manages to get back to his feet, at which point Barberena goes into Thai-clinch mode and starts wrecking him. Soon Proctor goes down for good, and the follow up punches by Barberena seal the deal.
