Conor McGregor’s personal journey into the Land of Millons has left the UFC lightweight division in a bit of a lurch, and while the most logical course of action would be to have the two best 155-pounders fight for the interim belt while McGregor earns his green, the two best lightweights – Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov – can’t seem to make it to the cage together. So here we are, with a UFC 216 main event that has Ferguson facing a maybe-not-so-worthy Kevin Lee for an interim belt.
Which isn’t the greatest crime in the world. Lee did easily defeat Michael Chiesa in a Fight Night event built around the heat between the two, which means Lee’s got the tools and the talent, and he might be on the cusp of breaking through “celebrity-wise”. Still, the notion of Lee being the interim champ…
Anyway, here’s Lee doing his thing. Watch and enjoy.
