It’s International Fight Week in Las Vegas, NV, which means consecutive UFC events, fans flocking to stray fighters like jackals on a carcass, and more bad hairstyles and tacky t-shirts than you thought possible. Of course, the main course for this fistic feast is UFC 213, which, unlike prior International Fight Week offerings, kinda lacks superstars.

That’s not marquee fighter Amanda Nunes’ fault, as she’s done everything right in terms of earning some luster of her own. She even wrecked superstar Ronda Rousey in her last outing – that should have gotten her some fans.

Fellow co-main eventer Valentino Shevchenko is still a bit too unknown and foreign for fans to have latched on to; meanwhile, co-main event fighters Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker are still waiting on their chance to break through (something that may come if they win a belt).

Really, it’s no one’s fault that this July UFC pay-per-view isn’t as big as they usually are. The UFC’s big names are otherwise occupied, with Conor McGregor making his $100 million, Rousey probably done, and Jon Jones facing Daniel Cormier at the end of the month. Who else is there to make a pay-per-view lineup compelling?

Regardless, this Saturday’s UFC 213 has got some good fights on it, so here’s the first Embedded episode.
