It’s hard to believe that a fighter riding a six-fight win streak – a streak that includes wins over Gunnar Nelson, Matt Brown and Carlos Condit – isn’t fighting for the belt. But that’s the case with Demian Maia, who once challenged Anderson Silva for the middleweight strap but is now the jiu-jitsu king of all the welterweights.

Maia is fighting another skilled and title-worthy veteran at UFC 211 on Saturday, and given both men’s depth of ability and breadth of experience, it’s pretty much a certainty we’re going to see some awesomeness go down in the cage.
