Kicking off the main card are Andre Fili and Yair Rodriguez – a Team Alpha Male product and a winner of TUF Latin America (we’ve already discussed the value of that accomplishment).

Rodriguez shows off his kicking skills in the opening seconds, landing a blur of a kick to Fili’s leg and firing off a couple of spinning back-kicks that nearly take Fili’s head off. The fight goes to the ground at Rodriguez’s behest, and after dodging a few¬†up-kicks, he settles in for some ground and pound. Fili manages to get back to his feet with 45 seconds left in the round, and they trade and nail each other pretty good before the bell sounds.

Round 2 opens with Rodriguez throwing what looks to be a dropkick (it misses, but what the hell?). He goes for and gets a takedown, but nothing really comes of it, and then they’re back on their feet – which, as Fili soon finds out, is a realm he doesn’t want to be in with his opponent. The end comes swiftly and in thrilling fashion as Rodriguez leaps into the air and lands a flying roundhouse kick. Fili is out.
