The weigh-in event for tomorrow’s UFC 192 took place today in Houston, Texas; with the evening’s main event, a light heavyweight title bout between champion Daniel Cormier and challenger Alexander Gustafsson, made official.
Both fighters addressed the crowd in brief interviews after making the light heavyweight limit. Cormier promised to not only beat his opponent, but send him into retirement. Gustafsson simply said “Houston, you’re going to have a new world champion tomorrow.”
Only one fighter weighed in over their allotted limit: Francisco Trevino, who weighed in a 160 lbs. for his lightweight bout against Sage Northcutt. Travino has one hour to make the 156 lb limit — as always, combatants in non-title bouts are allotted one extra pound.
UFC 192 has already had one bout scrapped due to weight issues. Earlier today, Johny Hendricks, who was scheduled to face Tyron Woodley in a welterweight bout, was hospitalized due to intestinal blockage and a kidney stone — both said to be related to drastic weight cutting. There will be no replacement bout.
