The opening bout of the UFC 166 PPV in Houston, Texas ended in an electrifying knockout from John Dodson, as he stopped Darrell Montague with a straight left hand in the first round of their flyweight encounter.

Dodson, returning to the UFC for his first bout since his loss to Demetrious Johnson in January, first rocked Montague with a straight left midway through the first stanza. Montague, who had scored well with leg kicks to begin, would survive the ensuing onslaught, but ran into another straight left and fell flat. The bout between two southpaws was stopped at 4:13 of the first round.

The loss snaps a four fight winning streak for Montague, who had also won 9 of last 10 bouts.
