The bantamweight contest between Mitch Gagnon and Dustin Kimura at UFC 165 was a quick and entertaining back-and-forth affair, with Gagnon eventually staggering Kimura with a body shot, before securing a guillotine choke to earn the victory.

Kimura landed several leg kicks early in the round, and a few punches throughout, but Gagnon kept pressure on the young prospect from Honolulu, HI — landing a left-right combination to bloody Kimura’s nose and some staggering shots to the body.

After a left hook to the liver, Gagnon, fighting in his home province of Ontario, snatched a guillotine choke. Kimura struggled to escape but eventually went limp. The bout was halted at 4:05 of round one.

With the victory, Gagnon’s record rises to 10-2. Kimura falls to 11-1.
