If at first the match-up doesn’t succeed, then try again. Back at UFC on Fox 7, we were expected to see Chad Mendes versus Clay Guida. Unfortunately Guida had to pull out with an injury. Healed and ready to roll, it seems both men are set to face off in Milwaukee for UFC 164.

“Money” Mendes (14-1) is looking unbeatable with three straight first round knockouts, including Cody McKenzie, Yaotzin Meza and recently Darren Elikins. The Alpha Male has only lost once and against dominant champ Jose Aldo in Jan. 2012. No shame there.

“The Carpenter” may be new to the featherweight division, currently 1-0, but he has a track-record of action (usually) in the lightweight division and has looked reprized in his new division. Guida was last seen taking out top ten featherweight Hatsu Hioki at UFC on Fox in Jan. of this year.

Also targeted for UFC 164 is Ben Rothwell versus Brandon Vera. The event is expected to take place Aug. 31 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
