Former Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Viscardi Andrade showed improved striking skills tonight at UFC 163 in Rio de Jainero, scoring a quick T/KO victory over Bristol Marunde in the night’s first preliminary bout.

Andrade, of São Paulo, paced around the Las Vegas battler looking for counters to begin. A two punch combination knocked Marunde to the mat, but the two ended up in a clinch. Marunde was able to defend a D’Arce choke, but he was then stunned by a clubbing left hook behind the ear.

A few strikes later, Mario Yamasaki stepped in to call a halt to the bout.

Viscardi Andrade defeats Bristol Marunde by T/KO at 1:36 of round one.
