A four time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion, Sergio Moraes offered another highlight reel to his growing MMA resume in UFC 163’s fifth bout: a round one triangle submission, over TUF 16 veteran Neil Magney .

After a brief standup exchange, Moraes hit a slick inside trip takedown over the wiry Team Elevation fighter, quickly advancing to mount and securing a triangle. Magney attempted to escape but Moraes kept the choke’s constriction, along with firing off some nasty elbows to Magney’s head. Magney tapped at 3:13 to end the welterweight bout.

“The Panther” Moraes, of São Paulo, Brazil, advances to 8-2, while Illinois native Magney — oddly — drops to 8-2.

Sergio Moraes defeats Neil Magny by submission at 3:13 of round one at UFC 163.
