An emotional UFC 163 in Rio de Jainero came to something of a strange finish.
José Aldo had delighted the home crowd by dominating “The Korean Zombie” Chan-Sung Jung, mostly with punching combinations and superior movement. He also hit a spinning kick at the end of the first and a takedown with some ground-and-pound to end the second.
But he never seemed to hurt the challenger.
It was a shoulder injury which finally halted Jung’s forward movement — after throwing an overhand, his shoulder actually seemed to pop right out of its socket — forcing “The Korean Zombie” to crumble to the canvas in the fourth, where Aldo pounced to deliver punches. With the challenger essentially helpless, referee Herb Dean called a halt to the action at 2:00 of round four.
José Aldo defeats Chan-Sung Jung by T/KO at 2:00 of round four at UFC 163. Aldo retains the featherweight championship.
