Today it was announced that Carlos Condit would be rematching Rory MacDonald at UFC 158, which is set for Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The fight card is slated for March 16th, and many thought that Condit and MacDonald would headline, but this isn’t the case. It looks like bout agreements are in place for Nick Diaz to finally settle the score with welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre. As soon as he was able, GSP requested a match with the Stockton brawler coming off his return in a victory over Carlos Condit. Now, the two look to finally lock up, and all that’s needed are signatures and good behavior.

The two were supposed to fight all the way back at UFC 137, in October of 2011. After Diaz missed multiple press conferences, he was pulled from the match and Condit took his place. An injury to Condit postponed the match against Diaz, with BJ Penn filling in for him. For UFC 143 at Super Bowl weekend of this year, Diaz and St. Pierre were lined up a second time, but St. Pierre’s ACL gave out. This is when Condit stepped in for an interim title, and Diaz came out on the losing end of a decision.

Retirement, a dirty drug test and failed grappling super fights ensued, and Diaz is not even eligible to fight until February of next year. But that hasn’t stopped the UFC from trying to plan this match. It looks like GSP will get his wish, and face in his words, the most disrespectful fighter in MMA. St. Pierre has promised to bring a fire to this fight, and lets hope that Diaz can match it.
