There may have been no fight of the night bonus handed out, but it’s understandable when 7 out of 12 fights end in the first round, and only three fights come to a decision in total. Instead two “Knockout of the Nights,” and two “Submission of the Night” bonuses were handed out.

The first knockout to grace the event came on the FX prelim portion, as it marked the return of former title contender Dan Hardy. The stop came at 3:51 of the first round in which Hardy dropped his opponent and raised his hand in victory prior to the stoppage.

The second knockout of the night award was given to Roy ‘Big Country’ Nelson as he put the very tough, Dave Herman down with one punch. The force of the punch spun Dave around, as he stumbled on the ground.

There was two submission of the night awards as well. Paul Sass lived up to his moniker by using his “sass-angle” finish of Jacob Volkmann. It was a big win for the 23 year old who has been suffering from injuries as of late.

Lastly, Lavar Johnson was on a roll until he ran in to the near 7 foot Stefan Struve. Lavar looked for the big shots early, but when Stefan pulled guard t was the end of the night. He was able to catch an armbar and finish the fight in 65 seconds. All these fighters were able to pocket an extra $70,000 for there finishes.
