Now that the filming of the 18th Season of “The Ultimate Fighter” has wrapped, fans can expect the usual ‘this is the craziest season yet’ narrative to kick into high gear as the season premiere approaches on September 4th. While some seasons have failed to deliver the shenanigans people have either come to expect, want or hate, it’s not surprising to hear that the latest coaches Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate didn’t get along so well.
Of course, Dana White recently relayed that Rousey and Tate “hate each other” and that there is “literally crazy drama every day”, but since he’s the promoter, it’s kind of his job to hype the show. While one could say the same about Rousey, she and Tate do have some nasty history, which of course culminated in the UFC champ tapping the bantamweight out last March (under the Strikeforce banner).
The 26 year-old Rousey recently had this to say about how TUF 18 went, and how she may be perceived, while talking to Bleacher Report:
“I’m happy it’s over and I’m concerned everyone is going to think I’m a psychopath because there is no way everything that went on could possibly be shown,” Rousey added. “There are going to be a lot of actions that are unexplained. “
TUF 18, which will feature women and men competitors, will certainly deliver a new twist on the show’s format. Whether that means the show’s a hit throughout the entire season remains to be seen.
The latest season will premiere on FOX Sports 1, September 4th, and Rousey and Tate are currently expected to rematch December 28th, at UFC 168.
