The UFC continues to pack on to the UFC 155 card, which will finish out 2012 on Dec. 29 in the promotions backyard of Las Vegas. It has been verified by the organization to CagedInsier.com that Tim Boetsch will take on Chris Weidman on the card in a possible contenders match.
Currently the card stands with headlining champ Junior dos Santos versus former champ Cain Velasquez in their second showdown.
Just as the undefeated Chris Weidman put on a phenomenal, and destructive finish of perennial contender Mark Munoz on July 11, the calls for a title shot against Anderson Silva were made by the fighter and fans alike. However it does not look to be the match up the UFC will look to make at this time, as he instead draws the former light heavyweight Tim Boetsch in his next showing.
Enter “The Barbarian,” Boetsch who had shocked many as he won a controversial decision over the former Bellator champ Hector Lombard at UFC 149. The victory put the veteran with four straight victories since losing via submission to Phil Davis. With the Barbarian and Weidman going head to head, we will be hopefully finding the next deserving adversary for middleweight kingpin Anderson Silva in 2013.
