Dan Hardy has stated his lack of respect for former UFC fighter Matt Hughes because of his hunting lifestyle.

Recently, it was announced that Hughes’ Sportsman Channel show, “Uncaged with Matt Hughes,” would show him in the African wild. Hardy responded to the news by posting on Twitter “I think Hughes should forgo one of the shows I his trophy hunting series to sit in front of a camera and debate his actions with me.”

Brian Foster, a fellow fighter, has come to Hughes’ defense on social media.

“I think Dan Hardy needs to lay off Matt Hughes and let us country boys do our dam thing!” Foster wrote. “We provide food for people with our hunting it’s not just for sport. Your desire to fight him only fuels my desire to whoop your (expleitve)!”

Despite Foster’s remarks, Hardy to clarify on Twitter that he is fine with hunting to feed a family, just not for sport.

“That’s very different to killing for fun,” he said. “I have no problem doing it to feed your family. I’m against self-righteous pricks that think the world is their playground to do with as they please.”

Either way, Hughes’ show returns this weekend for four parts. Hardy is the lead color commentator for UFC Fight Pass events.
