Prior to last night’s UFC Fight Night installment in Brazil, Thiago Alves was making decent money as a fighter and even better dough as a runway model. Now, thanks to an elbow from hell courtesy of the returning Carlos Condit, well… Alves’ career strutting before photographers while showcasing the latest fashions might be over.

Here’s what Alves posted to Instagram. Note the face that looks like it was stepped on by a rhinocerous.

Obrigado #UFCGoiania————– Unfortunately it wasn’t my night. But that’s how it is at the highest level of competition. A small setback is a great setup for a bigger comeback! I’ll learn from my mistakes and get a lot better. I won’t stop until I have that belt around my waist! Now back to the grind. Just wanna first thank God for blessing with this life. And a massive THANK YOU to all my fans for the support. And @ufc for this opportunity. I will be back!!!

In case you missed it, here’s multiple replays of the Brazilian fighter’s facial destruction.

Oh well. You can’t be pretty forever.
